Greetings…
I am excited about what is happening in our church in recent months. There seems to be an ever swelling tide of enthusiasm for what God has in store for us. More and more are talking about Jesus commission for his church to reach the lost for His kingdom. We are recognizing that we have been basically the same church offering the same ministries to the same number of people, and I must say we have done well. However, with long-term success, there often tends to be a certain amount of complacency as we tread water in our comfort zone. What excites me is the number of people willing to be made uncomfortable for the sake of the gospel.
What do I mean by uncomfortable?
Recognizing that growth involves growing pains, and willing to face that pain with the confidence that it is worth it.
Recognizing that with growth, it means more people; they might take your parking spot, your job, or your seat, and you praise God for the reason for the inconvenience.
Recognizing that we are at war with the world over the precious lives of our young people. The devil is sparing no expense at leading the children today down a road to destruction, and you are will not sit back and watch it happen.
Recognizing that even though we are “old dogs” used to church the way it’s always been, we may have to learn a few “new tricks” to accommodate growth.
Let’s keep praying for God’s leading.
See ya Sunday,
Roger
