12/17/2008 Greetings...! Church News... Welcome new Minister of Music/Youth, Brian Buffington, and Brooke and Jet. This past Sunday our church voted 102-5 to call Brian as the new Minister of Music/Youth. This is one of the most encouraging days of my ministry. I look forward to the coming year with great anticipation. Since his vote was significantly better than mine, one friend was quick to point out right after church, “Aren’t you glad he wasn’t running against you?” Indeed. I truly thank you for all of your support for this couple’s expanding ministry to our church family! Worship News… Thank you Youth Choir for the outstanding presentation this past Sunday evening. Your musical, The Most Important Thing, lived up to its title as it pointed to what is most important during the Christmas season. Our next three services are going to be special. This Sunday Morning our Adult Celebration Choir will lead us in worship as we look at Jesus, God’s Most Precious Gift for Us this Christmas. This Sunday Evening our Children’s Choir will also present a special Christmas Cantata. The Colors of Christmas teaches us that Jesus is God’s gift to the whole world. We will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service next Wednesday at 6 PM. During this service we will sing Christmas Carols and receive the Lord’s Supper. This is special time when our church family gets together for a brief service right at Christmas to worship our Lord together. I have written three paragraphs about three services that are all basically the same thing. Why? Because it’s all about Him! Jesus is indeed The Reason for the Season.
