Urgent 5 Steps to Stop the CoronaVirus

Corona Virus Updates For Our Congregation

Details for the upcoming weeks, and the impacts on our community

UPDATE:

Going forward we will be holding two separate services on Sunday morning, with one being at 9:30am for those who are "at risk" for the Corona virus, and a second service at 11:00am for everyone else. We are still practicing all social distancing protocols laid out by the federal, state, and local governments, and we are encouraging everyone to follow these guidelines. We will have sanitation stations available at every entrance that will provide hand sanitizer, and masks. We ask that everyone maintain a distance of 6ft apart from one another for the health and safety of everyone. We are also going to be holding two separate Sunday school classes at 10:30am, with one being led by Charleen Bembry for the older adults in the fellowship hall, and the other being led by Brett Taylor in the old choir room for the younger adults. Wednesday activities have resumed for the adults and the youth at 6:30pm, with prayer meeting/bible study for the adults in the sanctuary, and the youth meeting in the Gathering Grounds. The kids ministry will remain suspended until further notice.

If you have any questions, please contact Roger or myself at anytime.

Overview

We here at FBC Jasper are concerned with the health, safety, and well-being of our congregation members, as well as, the members of our community. We are currently monitoring all guidelines set forth by the CDC and WHO, as well as our president, vice president, and the Coronavirus Task Force. As part of our ongoing response to COVID-19, we have decided to cancel all meetings including our worship services, youth and kids programs, and the Easter musical that was planned. We want to encourage everyone to take all precautionary measures to keep their family and loved ones safe during this time of uncertainty. We are going to have some things planned for ways to record virtual services so that there will be a way for people to have church at home with their families, so stay tuned for more information concerning that.

We also want to encourage people to take advantage of the RightNow Media service that we provide free, not only to our congregation, but the whole community. There is a link on the main page of our website that will guide you on how to set it up. This is a great tool for anyone, including kids, to have Bible studies during the week while you are at home.

Also, during this time, there is a link for weekly contributions to the church so that you can still give your weekly offering. This is vital to the operations of the church, so that we can continue serving you and our community. We are available to do shopping for the elderly who do not want to put themselves at risk by going out in public or anything else that they might require. If you have any questions, or if you are in need of any assistance, feel free to contact Pastor Roger or any of our staff members.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all navigate through this uncharted territory, and please continue to pray for our nation, community, medical professionals, doctors, and our president as he leads us forward.

God Bless,
